I’m always moved by the simplicity of the requests that people make when we offer to assist them with a final wish. Anytime I’ve asked, I’ve expected to hear something nearly impossible to fulfill. And yet, most times the request is quite simple.
In this article from CBS News, a dying man’s last wish was fulfilled on Thanksgiving Day when his request to watch a not-yet-released film with his son was tweeted to the CEO of Disney. It turns out that seeing the “Rise of Skywalker,” could only be approved by Disney heads and when they saw the request online, they were more than happy to make it happen! They quickly responded to the tweet for more information, and set up a viewing for the father and son! I can only imagine what a blessing that time together was for them!
This is just one great example of what Hospice is all about. It’s comfort. It’s living on your own terms. It’s priorities that matter to the heart and soul of a person. Simply put, Hospice is about LIFE!
